DEATH CASES
We assist
individuals and families with the death of a loved one caused by the
negligence or wrongful act of another. Representative cases we have
handled include alcohol-related fatality, electrocution at work, motor
vehicle accidents, motel murder, defective automobiles and care-giver
negligence. See this page
for more information about
wrongful death.
Tragically,
many deaths in Arizona are caused by drivers who are impaired either by
drugs or alcohol. If your loved one died in an alcohol or
drug-related driving incident you should promptly:
♦
Save everything related to the decedent;
♦
Contact an experienced
wrongful death attorney as soon as possible;
♦
Obtain a copy of the police report;
♦
Refrain from speaking to insurance adjusters or private investigators
(except obtain their contact information and give it to the attorney);
♦
Cooperate with law enforcement authorities;
♦
Contact your local
M.A.D.D. office to seek their assistance.
In Arizona,
victims of crime are entitled to certain state constitutional rights.
Whether or not the criminal process works in your case, it may be possible
to obtain civil relief. Even if the impaired driver seems to have no
money, there may be a way to collect damages (money) from the impaired
driver or from someone else who is legally responsible for the incident.
Victim assistance is available from
M.A.D.D. and other organizations.
